WHAT DO I DO IF MY LIBRARY BOOK IS OVERDUE?

Please try to return your books when they are due, as another patron may be waiting to sign them out. However, if your book is overdue, please stop in at the library and we can renew it for you, or give us a call.

HOW MANY ITEMS CAN I CHECK OUT AT ONCE?

You can sign out up to 10 books at a time and the book may be renewed, unless another patron has requested that book.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A LIBRARY CARD?

Get a Library Card or 2

It’s as simple as filling out a short form to get a library card. Just show us proof of your local address and we’ll do it right up for you. But there’s more – you can apply for a free card to the Portland Public Library right here at Brown Memorial Library. It entitles you access to so many databases (like newspapers, magazines, genealogy) and even downloadable books from the Portland Library collection. So what are you waiting for??
